Mustang (Hanger 9) Electric Conversion

Here is something that you large warbird fliers ought to see!

Pete Nicholson has carried out an electric conversion of this Mustang, and over a period of about 2 years has progressivly upgraded it with better motors and cells. Pete is the man behind the Model Designs range bought by Balsacraft. The range included: Blenheim Mk 1, Hurricane, Bearcat, FW190, Spitfire 1X and the Sea Fury.

This conversion is on a different scale altogether, and the figures translate to give;
Vertical performance, 100W/lb power input at approximate 25oz/sq ft wing loading.

Hanger 9 Mustang costs -
Mustang ARTF £235 plus the electric parts Pete used to power the model will cost approximately £518.

LiPo cells £280

Full details of the conversion and improvements can be found in the November 2004 issue of Quiet & Electric Flight International. The Hanger 9 Corsair will also be receiving the same electric conversion in due time.
